We then decided to "explore" the area and take a walk around the pond. The boys wanted to show Fiona a special bridge under the weeping willow trees. They all wanted to hold hands...so, so precious!
We found some worms along the way...
They wanted to include me in the "exploration" (which I loved!)...
This picture is a bit out of order. Teddy fell asleep on Marcin when Adam and I were putting the boys to bed. Fiona and I walked downstairs and found the two of them and it was a really sweet picture and then Fiona wanted to snuggle up as well!
Anyway, after the exploration and dinner, we decided to give the kids "marry-me" bars. Marcin and I had the kids sit on the step and we were having them do all these different poses for the camera to "earn" their dessert. The belly picture is one of my favorites. The kids were so cute together and all smiley and I love Fiona checking Matty out and him being all goofy. Something about it just makes me smile because you can literally see their relationship developing right in front of us. And I love this age because we can make them do these silly and somewhat arbitrary things and they actually do it and laugh about it too!
We decided to eat the dessert out by the creek because the evening was just beautiful and the sun was starting to set. Perfection.
Teddy wanted in on the action too. Ignore the big green rock! It was a great afternoon and evening. Poor Fiona did have a cough and had some rough nights of sleep, but Marcin wins the trooper award and did his best to make her comfortable and still enjoy a pleasant visit. I especially like that it was just our two families which gave all of us a chance to really get to know each other and see the kiddos interacting in a whole new way. Matty and Fiona did such an incredible job sharing and playing with each other and would follow each other around a lot. I loved seeing that. They left around 10:30 Tuesday morning and the boys (and me) were very sad to see them leave. I have a feeling their visits together are only going to get better and more fun! Loved the cousin time!
